Church of the Cross: Getting Connected

We sincerely believe that as people build relationships with one another they are empowered in their ability to grow in their relationship with Christ. Because of this we offer various opportunities in our community for making connections. Listed below are some of the ways you can get involved at Church of the Cross and develop those connections. Monthly Mid-Week Meal

We believe that sharing a meal with someone is a key way to build a friendship. With that in mind, prior to our monthly All Church Prayer, we enjoy a simple meal together. Anyone that can is encouraged to bring something to share, but everyone is invited whether they brought food or not (we have all mooched at one time or another).

Newcomer Dinners

Once a month we host a dinner at the home of one of our members. This dinner is especially designed for people who have just begun attending Church of the Cross. It is a time to hang out with other new people as well as to meet some of our leaders. After the dinner there is a brief time in which Christian shares an overview of the mission of Church of the Cross and anyone is welcome to ask questions they have about the church.

Discovering the Cross

This is a class for those who wish to become members of Church of the Cross, but is also open to anyone who would like to learn more about who we are. It is four weeks long and includes teachings on the church and the Christian life, as well as times for discussion and getting to know one another. The next class will be offered in the Spring.

Small Groups

Our hope is that everyone at Church of the Cross will be a part of a small group. As our church grows our small group ministry continues to develop and grow. We desire to offer a variety of small group options depending on a person’s interests. The uniting factor for all of our groups is that they are encouraging places where people can grow both in knowing Christ as well as in friendship with others.

Christian Growth Classes

We periodically offer special classes which focus on some area of the Christian life. This Fall we will be offering "Tough Questions", appropriate for Christians at any level of growth as well as those exploring the Christian faith. This class will begin with a meal followed by teaching and discussion. More details to follow.

Ministry Teams

Serving at Church of the Cross is a great way to meet new people and get more plugged in. There are several ministries you can get involved in, including ushering, event planning, hospitality, prayer teams, audio/video, and children’s ministry.
