Our Holy Week services offer a wonderful opportunity to enter-into the final week of Jesus’ life and be powerfully reminded of and changed by Jesus’ death and resurrection. (For a printable schedule, please click here.)

Palm Sunday – March 25

Palm Sunday Services – 9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.

Holy Week begins with this celebration of Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. We start the service downstairs (or outside, weather permitting) with the Blessing of the Palms and then process together into the sanctuary.

Maundy Thursday – March 29

Maundy Thursday Service – 7:00 p.m.

In this service, we celebrate Christ’s last night with his disciples through scripture, music, prayers, a sermon, an optional foot-washing, and the celebration of the Eucharist.

All Night Prayer Watch – 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

An all-night Prayer Watch will be kept after this service until 7:00 a.m. Please click here to sign-up for a time to pray.

Good Friday – March 30

Morning Prayer – 7:00 a.m.

The Prayer Vigil concludes with a brief service of scripture readings and prayer. All are welcome.

Stations of the Cross – 12:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.

In this service of prayer and reflection we meditate upon the chief scenes of Jesus’ sufferings and death, moving throughout the sanctuary, pausing at each station and cross. You may proceed through the stations by yourself at anytime after noon on Friday, or join with others at noon and 5:30 p.m.

Prayer Appointments – 2:00 p.m – 5:30 p.m.

Clergy will be available to pray with members of the congregation on Good Friday. This can be for a time of confidential confession (which is traditionally done on Good Friday) or for any other prayer needs. Click here to sign up online, or call the office to schedule a time.

Good Friday Service – 7:00 p.m.

The Good Friday service focuses on Christ’s passion and death for us on the cross. It is a somber service, but also one of hope as we remember what Jesus accomplished for us. It includes readings, prayers, music, and a reflection on the cross of Christ.

**Every year, we take a special offering during our Good Friday service that is designated for a specific ministry of mercy that God lays on our hearts. We’ll announce this ministry soon.**

Holy Saturday – March 31

Easter Egg Hunt in the Park – 10:30 a.m.

This year, as part of our Easter Celebrations, we’re having a community Easter Egg Hunt in Valley Park. It’s a great chance to get to know and bless our neighbors more. Click here for more information.

Easter Vigil – 7:00 p.m.

Since the first centuries of the Church, the Vigil has marked the beginning of Easter with baptisms, renewal of baptismal vows, and celebration of the Eucharist. But, first, the Easter Vigil powerfully retells the story of salvation history beginning with creation, continuing with God’s covenant with the Israelites, and reaching a climax in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Through this service, we remember God’s work in the past and celebrate his faithfulness today and forever. It is also the first time since the beginning of Lent that we sing Alleluia together as a congregation–a moment that is marked by the ringing of bells, keys, etc. (Please bring bells if you have them.)

Easter Sunday – April 1

Easter Sunday Services – 9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.

On this, our most important holiday, we celebrate Christ’s resurrection and the new life it brings to us. Children’s programming is offered during the 9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. services, but not during the 7:30 a.m. service. This is a great service to invite friends to.

Nursery Care for Holy Week Services (March 29-31)

The nursery will be open for children ages 3 years and under during the Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil services. If you need nursery care you will need to sign your children up at the Welcome Table, or contact Andrea Pope. Nurseries will be staffed based on the sign-up, and priority will be given to visitors and to children on the list. (The nursery will be available as usual on Easter Sunday.)
