CebuHello from the lovely island of Cebu in the Philippines! I’m here with an incredible group of people, representing 5 different nations. We have been in the Philippines for about three weeks. Our time here has been nothing short of amazing. I have never witnessed God move so powerfully! He really wants this nation to know of His nearness and burning love. Already we have seen nearly 200 people give their lives to Jesus, and prayed for and seen healing for over 50 people. I am in awe of how God has been using us, and am reminded of what He said to His disciples: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it,” (John 14:12-14.). He is so good to answer prayer and it is His will that all should know of His unending care and devotion.

God has been showing me this through personal experience. One evening here at a dusty basketball court, our group performed our production. It highlights through dance, acting, and singing four broken areas of society, (abortion, self-image, domestic violence, transgenderism) and how God wants to redeem these. The production ends with Jesus bringing restoration and healing to each area. It’s quite beautiful and powerful. On this particular evening, we finished sharing the gospel message and asked if anyone needed healing. I spotted a tiny elderly woman who immediately shot her hand up for healing, and I apprehensively walked up to her. She explained that there was something wrong with her back and then put both her hands in the air. I began to pray for her, and could feel something straightening in her back. Tears were streaming down her face which, at this point, had a huge smile on it. In shock at what was happening, I listened to her explain that she was so happy and that all the pain had left. Jesus healed her instantly. However, He did so much more than just heal her. He revealed His love and power to her. A couple of days later, I found out that she had approached the local pastor we were working with and asked for his forgiveness, as she had been a witch doctor who had persecuted his church. There are so many different layers to the way God works. It’s been such a joy partnering with Him in bringing His kingdom to earth, and ushering others into His kingdom.

Please pray for our team that God will continue to use us effectively, that He will continue to give us His heart for this nation and the people here, that we will grow deeper in unity, and for covering over us as we will be transitioning to South Korea in less than one week! Prayer for my health would also be appreciated, which hasn’t been too great this past week.

Thank you for your support and prayers! It means so much.

Love and blessings,
Abby Clark
