Adult Ministries

Church of the Cross emphasizes discipleship at all ages, and so in addition to our children and youth ministries, we offer diverse opportunities for adults to grow in Christ together. Watch our Events for the latest information about upcoming and ongoing Adult Ministry opportunities.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about how you can participate in our various Adult Ministries, please contact our Pastor of Adult Ministries, Peter Berg.

Life Groups

“Life Groups” provide opportunities to share our lives with one another in friendship, prayer, and meaningful discussion along the themes of the sermon. They run from September through December, and January through May. More information.

Men’s and Women’s Ministries

Our Men’s and Women’s ministries offer classes, retreats, and other gatherings for adults of all ages in order to build community and offer mutual encouragement in our walks of faith.

Both groups take yearly retreats. Our Women go on retreat near Stillwater, MN, in September, and our Men retreat near Alexandria, MN, in February. Our Women’s Ministries offers two separate Bible Studies (one on Tuesday mornings, one on Wednesday nights) throughout Fall and through Spring.

Our Men’s Ministry offers several opportunities to connect, including a monthly Listening Prayer Gathering (which includes worship, teaching, fellowship, and prayer), a weekly morning gathering (for discussion, prayer, and connection), and a monthly evening gathering—called Pints and Priesthood—for extended hang-out time.

Young Adult Ministry

This ongoing life group is for ages 18 through the mid-30s, single or married, typically without children. This year-round group offers a great place to pray together while considering vocation, current topics, ministry throughout our lives, and just being a supportive community for each other. It meets weekly to share a meal. More information.

Adult Education

Several times throughout the year, special Adult Education classes are offered on Sunday mornings during the 10:45 am service. These classes cover a variety of topics, ranging from explaining our Anglican heritage, considering work and vocation, considering Christian themes in literature, and examining Scripture passages.

Adult Confirmation

We love Confirmation, and Adult Confirmation is core to becoming a “Confirmed Member” here at Cross. The confirmation process includes intentional teachings about our core beliefs and practices, encouragement to serve with our gifts and strengths, and getting to know pastoral staff more. More information.
